Greetings Friends, Jan 6, 2007

My name is Rae Lawrence, I will be traveling throughout the Puget Sound and NW Washington area in early 2007. I am a member Multnomah Monthly Meeting and of North Pacific Yearly Meeting's Outreach and Visitation Committee. I will be traveling with a companion, either another member of Outreach and Visitation Committee, or a Friend with the desire and leading to be a “companion along the way”. We would like the opportunity to visit with as many isolated Friends, Worship Groups and Meetings as possible.

The primary purpose of our trip is to share in worship and to explore the query “How is the Spirit with thee, Friend?” We hope to listen and learn about individual Friends and about your worship groups or meetings, whether you have any concerns, or if something works particularly well that you would like to share with other groups.  We will not be trying to "teach" anything. We may offer to leave a book or two with you if they are of interest.  We will also try to answer to the best of our ability any questions you might have about North Pacific Yearly Meeting.

My logical mind says to plan the trip in a circuitous, logistical way.  My inner ear whispers ‘go where led.’ I am advised to plan and schedule - so at this point we would like to know if you would appreciate a visit during the 3rd or 4th month 2007, or as early as 27th  of 2nd month. I envision traveling up the west side from Westport to Port Townsend then across toward Anacortes and the San Juans, then to Bellingham before heading south. This is subject to change, based on responses to this letter, so please advise on specific dates and requests for you and/or your worship group or meeting, and I will remain flexible.

Since the time available will be mostly mid-week we are asking if individual Friends (families) would appreciate a home visit, and in the case of worship groups and meetings whether it might be possible to arrange a special meeting for us (a potluck and worship at someone's home, for instance) with as many meeting attenders as may be able to attend.  We would also appreciate overnight hospitality for two or three at least one night in each location. We will also need transportation assistance while traveling on and between the San Juan Islands.
    
Please “reply all” to help all of us arrange the logistics of our travels. I look forward to this trip and the opportunity to meet with Friends in the greater Puget Sound and NW Washington area.

I move about a fair bit between house/pet sits in the north Willamette Valley, greater Portland/ Vancouver area, and Walla Walla. I have a cell phone with voice mail but I don’t always have a signal, so leave a message please. I try to check my email at least once or twice a week, daily when possible. I will return phone messages and emails as quickly as possible.
